this year the party i'm going to is actually for Dia del Muerte, and we've all been asked to dress as 'something dead', as literally or conceptually as we want. i'm going as the revolution. Mao cap with red star, army jacket over olive drab thermal top, fatigue pants, boots, an ammo belt, and maybe a black bandanna over my mouth and nose, though i can't tell whether that really works or not (i feel like i'm mixing my revolutionary metaphors there). i'm thinking about trying to borrow a fake gun or some grenades from work, but A) i'm worried i'll drunkenly lose them, and B) we're busy and i don't think the prop guy has time to futz around. i might stop by one of those costume shops on my way home and see what i can rustle up for cheap.
