Odegard Warehouse Sale

11-8-odegard.jpg
The semi-annual warehouse sale is going on at Odegard next week! I made it out to the spring sale and was not disappointed...

Odegard's lush handmade wool rugs are sold at about 80% off at these warehouse sales, alongside a small selection of Fortuny lighting and furnishings. The warehouse is located in Long Island City. The sale is open to the trade only on Monday, November 13 and to the public on Tuesday, November 14 through Sunday, November 19. It's definitely worth checking out.

I'm assuming that at 80% off, these rugs are still at least $2000-$3000, right? Which, of course, is a good deal considering how much they are at retail... just trying to decide if I can afford it, even on sale.

Those rugs are nice and all but why buy factory made mass produced copies of real Persian rugs? Where's the class or character in that? I sell wonderful new and antique rugs for a fraction of their prices that are unique and hand made (sorry, I live in Washington state).

Odegard rugs are not "factory made mass produced".
They are real artworks handmade by artisans in Nepal. Their designs are very modern and are not reproductions. I saw them at the ICFF and they won an award for their designs. Odegard also supports many environmental and social missions. check out their website and click on the rugmark link, they donate money to build schools in Nepal.

I bought a gorgeous 8x10 at the last O-warehouse sale for about $1800...but it was a $6,000 rug. So this is an awesome sale and they are very nice.

Keith--
Odegard sets the standard (along with perhaps Tufenkian) for current rug production... actually, a better word would be handcrafting.

And GRG is right about how the Odegard mission runs deeper than the sheer beauty (and heirloom quality) of their carpets. Stephanie Odegard is artist, pioneer, and visionary.

ESP -
It depends on the size of the rug you need.
you can probably find a 6x8 rug or smaller for few hundred dollars. they go by the square foot.
AT - Please keep us posted if they ever have a sale in LA.
