I just this am saved two of these items on my computer - I love how you can save individual items from the Currents online slide show.

Any thoughts on how to DIY that "dVider system"? I would love a temporary room divider in my LR to turn it into a guest space. It uses 2 steel compression poles. I can't think of what a source for something like that would be.

Pixie--
Professional painters/contractors use a compression pole system, but I can't remember the name of the most prominent brand (something with "Wall" in the name, I think).

They ain't cheap, though.

kiminottawa, get out of my brain! I was thinking the exact same thing about the Stolman pole. We used them for all the shelving in our store in Mtl and they are great.

So Pixie, I can attest to the fact that these would work great. You would just need someone with some basic sewing skills to make the "sail", or maybe even just buy a curtain. I would also recommend buying the brackets that are designed to go with the stolman system to attach the "sail". And the price would be WAY cheaper than the above mentioned one. Good luck!

Click on my name for a link to some floor to ceiling tension poles. These were from a quick google search.

Thanks everyone. The IKEA option looks great and a good price. And the brackets too look like a good solution. I haven't explored the entire link you found, Archie, but at first glance they look pricey.

I have to chime in on the stolmen set... I used it in my office to create a bookcase/desk system ala Atlas, but wayyyy cheaper. And noone has ever guessed it's from IKEA because around here they display it as a closet system.
