It's interesting to see the grain silo components. I used to volunteer with a straw bale construction company, and they frequently built round or octagonal houses using pre-fab silo roofs. It's interesting to see how other people are using these cheap, sturdy building systems.

Did anyone else think most of the Edwardian bathrooms were AWFUL?

LOVE the grain silo house. Gorgeous proportions. perfect materials and siting, and a fun contrast between shapes. Beautifully executed and to me it has some Robert Venturi spirit in it.
Is it just me, or is that Hamptons Showhouse at the end of the line on the train to Dullsville? YAWN! The photos from years past were so much more creative, invigorating, and inviting.

My parents are the same age as Gladstone, and I'm hoping they are as adventurous and uncomplicated in what they seek when they build their next house--and as committed as he is to excellent design. Beautiful place, congratulaltions!
