The dressed-down formal portraits seem ill-wrought AND ill-conceived from start to finish. Good portraiture is a very, very tricky little dance, and art is even harder. These manage to fail at both in embarassing ways. And yes, I'm kind of saying that portraiture isn't really necessarily art.
Yes, a pricey portrait committing the Ugg Boot to eternal record? Not so wise.
