- This is perhaps our favorite H+H story in a few months—For Designers’ Disciples, Home as Homework. Really good stuff—but short and left us wanting MORE!

- Playwright Steven Sater lives in the eaves of the Dakota: Storming Broadway From Atop a Fortress.

- Room to Improve: Can I buy a ready-made house plan by a well-known architect? (please, please don't!)

Love the campfire in the middle of the room. Marshmallows, hot chocolate and Play Station all in one go. Divine.
I finally have a post for your terrific website. I built the Robert A. M. Stern Life Dream House in 1996 and learn to love the house more each day. My general contractor was suprised at the level of detail in the plans-only HVAC was ignored. Luckily, Mr. Stern was building a model house for a follow-up LIFE article about an hour away from me. This allowed me and my contractor the chance to see the house completed. Great idea-readily available designer house plans. Sorry that LIFE magazine ended the program.
wouldn't that fire pit in the middle of the room be against fire code?
the fire pit is actually CANDLES in a hurricane - so no violations there! :)
I want those metal kitchen shelves in Sater's Dakota kitchen. Exactly those. Who can make them for me?
