Cleyenne's French Inspired Victorian Flat
House Call

Name: Cleyenne
Location: London, England

I have decorated my apartment after spending some time in Paris — after returning to London, I decided that I could not relocate but I could bring a little French style into my new home. It can be a little feminine for some, but I live alone and only had to please myself.

It is a Victorian conversion flat, with very high ceilings and bay windows. Outside of the bones — cornice, high doors, floors, bathrooms — I have chosen everything myself. It has taken time but I like the final result, it looks and feels like a home! I hope you like it as much as I do!

Thanks Cleyenne!

Loved the chaise in front of the custom glass-fronted book-cases.

All-white Louis the Whatever chair and ottoman? Pretty but impractical. I've seen male New Yorkers in their all-white apartments, so I wouldn't say it was too feminine. I'd say it was too expensive to keep up, given the prohibitive cost of Scotchgard these days.

Really nice!!! Would love a proper house tour.

Meanwhile, top tip - turn the kitchen table around so that narrow side is against wall and put two chairs side-by-side facing eachother (as opposed to having one chair on each side of table). You will find that you use the table much more and also that it will be far more comfortable (and enjoyable) for sharing meals.

I, too, am bemused by the folded up cardboard cartons under the chaise in an otherwise lovely picture! What's with that?

It's a beautifully realized apartment that succeeds in looking like it's been there forever (other than the cartons).

The cardboard was just a mistake, I took the picture and realized later that I had forgotten to get them out of the house, but then I had posted already. That is not a part of the decoration and as soon as I know how to edit this, I will have another picture with a 'neat room' posted.

The art work is actually a Damien Hirst, the blue butterfly is called Capricorn.

Thank you for all your comments and the tips - Not many worries on how to keep it clean since I am pretty tidy ( but the cardboards !)
