apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

House Call: Arlene's Cozy Flat
London

1-london-flat.jpg

Name: Arlene
Location: London, England
Hi — I live in this very comfortable one bedroom flat in London. It is very convenient location for me since I commute by public transport everyday. The flat has an open plan living room and kitchen. My living room is divided into multimedia room that double as a guest bedroom and my study which becomes a formal dining when I throw an occasional dinner party. Friends love the glamorous feel and think I spend a lot of money on it. But actually I spend very little, thanks to Ikea which is nearby and homebase. On occasion, I treat myself to more upbrand home decor. Enjoy!

Thanks, Arlene!

I like this apartment. It feels welcoming and there are things to catch your eye w/ it being too busy. I'm partial to a mix of rich reds, deep grays, and warm whites :-)

Question: Do you find that sofa-bed (from IKEA, right?) comfortable for just lounging around? I have considered buying 5 or 6 of them instead of an extra-large sectional for my attic space. The seating has to be comfy for movies, music and conversation. These units would have the added benefits of fitting up the turned stairway (lol) and being able to be turned into beds for guests.

I like the whimsical feel. It looks like a really fun place to hang out in. Nice blend of colors.

I like your bedroom, although the picture would look better without the laptop. The rest of the images of the house don't work for me and I don't know what to suggest...
