1 Br. w. deck in Chelsea.
Favorite color: red
Favorite home store: Nest Interiors (172 A Ninth Ave. - 212-337-3441)
Purchased last spring, the owner had the whole place painted, carpeted and otherwise stripped down from it's neo 70's previous tenant. It is now a beautiful little nest in Chelsea with only a few more yards to go. With a fine sense of style and color already in place, missing pieces include the dining room table (an old one is waiting to be replaced), adjusting the curtains, and dealing with the dubious wrong turn that the green took in the bedroom.
The goal here is to be comfortably having dinner for 6 by December and no longer worrying about the handles falling off the sliding door. No problem.

Because I took shitty pictures, mainly. Its much better than that..it's a great apartment.. I'll get it right next time. maxwell
why on earth are we looking at a slide show of such a boring, *wall to wall carpeted*, no-flow apartment that possesses not one ounce of originality--either of the whimsical or edgy kind?
Are these the house tours in Chelsea you have to pay alot to see right?
Where is the kitchen? What about the backyard or whatever is behind the window? Should have been photographed during the day, because it sure doesn't look good at night.
I think before pictures, if you have 'em, would show just what kind of transformation went on here.
i'm amazed at the negativity here.
a few thoughts from the owner of the "boring, wall to wall carpeted, no-flow apartment that possesses not one ounce of originality--either of the whimsical or edgy kind"...
a home is a very personal thing. the reason that maxwell was there was because i asked him to make it more comfortable for ME.
i don't need edgy. i don't need whimcial. what i do need, however, is a home that is warm and inviting for me, my friends, and my family (and you'd be amazed how cozy carpeting can be).
it may never live up to your taste level or design preferences, hls, so it is probably a good thing that you don't live there.
Who is the artist of the painting in the third picture?
What's up with the nastiness? I love looking at peoples' apartments - no matter how they are decorated, I can always get ideas - from the colors, or the furniture placement, or the assessories, etc. Or just to see how other people live.
Lighten up.
the painting in the third picture was done by a local artist in kenya -- i picked it up on a trip a few years ago.
