Copy of 22nd st - week 3 - 11.jpg Where the hell were we this morning? We were suffering from computer problems in a cafe in Chelsea before heading to the worksite to see how far they had gotten in the past two weeks. Arg! We hates our computer, the little precious.

But, hey! They have got the upper floor in! All metal construction in four parts, it was delivered last week and is providing a working floor for continuing work on the ceiling.

All work is centered on the upper parts of the apartment as electrical lines will need to be run along the ceiling, and the old beams planed down before the insulation will be sandwiched into place.

The brick walls are going to be beautiful. You can also see how the ceilings are just high enough that they were able to split the height with this floor and provide enough standing room below. Look at how the metal frame accomodates the front door....

Slowly the room is getting cleaner as the painstaking demolition and removal of all nails is finished. This project has only two full time workers on it right now, and they have a lot to do, so it's going to take some time. MGR
