How To... Make a Bentwood Lamp

10.31.bentwood_lamp.jpg

Make your own bentwood lamp with this DIY at How 2 Point Oh. The project is not too complicated and not too expensive, either, considering the result...

Take a piece of clear acrylic, bend it with a heat gun in the desired shape, adhere wood veneer to its outer surface, and afix LED lights to the underside for a very cool, who-knew-you-made-it bentwood lamp. Plus, it seems the project takes all of $30 to accomplish.

I didn't know that you could bend acrylic that easily. This completely solves a side table problem for me! Thank you! I was looking for something almost the exact same shape that I could use as a side table to slide up under the side of my sofa because I have no space. I am totally going to try and make one now! And I know for a fact you can get acrylic in a large variety of colors. Hooray!
