wondering about this for a welcome mat??? coir ones get all mouldy here...

Cleaning should be fairly easy -- just dump the rocks into your sink (pad it with towels first!) and rinse them until they seem clean. Wipe the frame with whatever you use to clean your other finished wood stuff.

link works now. such a lovely and simple concept, but I would probably fully line the bottom to prevent the rubbing that regina mentions

I like the idea in theory, but it seems like in practice that you'd end up having rocks stick to your feet and follow you into the bath, or out of the mat and onto the bathroom floor.

Won't this lead to the water running down your feet and onto your floor? It would then pool under the rocks and probably get rather slimy and gross.

I love the idea, but thinking things through I don't think it's that great.

I'm sure the roaches will love this design idea!
