We love to have a little stash of gifts around for last-minute host gifts and the like. It's especially nice when they can be hand made (by ourselves, of course, to make them more personal and save a little dough. That's why we loved seeing this small soap DIY at Danny Seo's blog...

Danny Seo shares how he made these to hand out on a recent trip to Atlanta. They simply require melting down olive oil glycerin soap, adding coloring and sand, and reforming. Very sweet.

Handmade soaps are always a welcomed gift, because they can be tailored to the tastes of the recipient. With melt and pour soaps, small bottles of scent and color, and silicone molds (I use silicone baking molds), it is a hobby that can fit into a storage tub and stowed on the closet floor.

I don't know why I found it so funny that he made this soap from a larger soap! I guess it reminded me of Homer's chili spoon.
