IN MY BEDROOM - WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

NEW THEME FOR OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.

This year we are going to change themes more often. Our fourth theme is In My Bedroom. Drawing from this theme we hope you will submit more pictures for us to feature each Friday.

Here are the ground rules for 2008:

1. The title of of the picture must relate to the words "In My Bedroom" (you may define that any way you like)
2. The picture should relate to the concept of home (you may define that any way you like)

This is our weekly celebration of ACCESSIBLE photography, which means beautiful artwork that you can actually hang on your wall tonight.

We're happy to be doing it with our friends Marty Weiss and Hannah Wallace. who are curating pics from Meter Gallery. Reader submissions will be posted bi-weekly and Meter will be in between. That means it a full on amateur and professional show!

Is he dead?

Looks like he is daydreaming to me. I look forward to reading the reactionary comments of ATers offended that a naked torso has made its way onto the site through the "In My Bedroom" feature.

I'm not offended that he has a naked torso but it bothers me to no end that the mattress is exposed!!!

No, no, LaurieLu it is "bare"....like him. Partly exposed, down to the essence... It speaks of being safe enough to be real: no need for cover or pretense. I LOVE IT!!

As a photographer I think Yemi is a wonderful capture. Its simple amazing.

I truly believe half of these so called design junkies know anything about art. God forbid if it doesn't have a peace of mid century furniture in the middle of the photo.

AT is crossing a line with this photo of Yemi. My guess is that half the people who visit AT will find Yemi yummy. The other half will want to throw up. Does AT want to lose half its audience?

I do not understand this section. Is the second picture even a bedroom?

I'm with Jashiro. The title "In My Bedroom" can mean whatever anyone defines it to be, and I think these are great interpretations.

To actually answer the question, I'm rather partial to "Free To Go". I like the colors and the message.
