Hello, I wanted to share my own Before & After — I bought the chair at a Salvation Army for $8 and recovered it with IKEA fabric for $12! The dog on the chair is my beagle, Cooper. Thanks for your time, Darren

Thanks Darren!
Nice chair - but really, send Cooper up to Montreal so I can spend about 4 hours scratching and playing with his ears - what a cute guy!

Very nice job! And it looks fantastic with your wall color and art. I love that you took the arms off. Great find!

Thanks for the comments, Cooper feels the love.
The wall color in the After photos is from CIL and it's called Fossil Grey.

Great job! I would not have seen the classic chair hidden underneath the dated fabric & arms.

I hope you kept the arms to at least keep the option for another redo in the future. Very cute though, and the chairs not bad either.

nice chair... before and after!

Cooper and Darren's chair. Cooper gets first billing for cuteness.

Huge difference! Does Cooper really sleep there or is he just posing? A black, drum lampshade would polish off that corner.

wow! what a great find. I have been on the hunt for a chair similar to this for my bedroom, but haven't had any luck at my local thrift shops or salvation army. Jealous!

To be honest, I loved your before, but the after is also great and your pup is cuteness personified.

Great chair, and Cooper is adorable. I had my own beagle for 13 years. They are great, great dogs. Who can resist those eyes!? That's clearly his chair.

@phauxtoe, I don't see any incorrect reupholstering.

Oh actually, I see it now. It doesn't bother me though.

Love the chair, but Cooper the Beagle is a heart-stealer! (I've had two Beagles myself, so I'll always have a soft spot for them.)

Please point out the "problem" for those of use with less keen eyes. (ie. so we can learn...)
And Darren, Coop... Great job, no matter what they say!

So if you love something and it works for you--and it looks great--is it still "incorrect"? I think this is a great chair and I would be happy to have it in my home. :)
