Black walls aren't for everyone. In fact, they're probably for very few of us. But what about black woodwork?...

The look can be very classic, it can go country, or it can be sleek and sophisticated. Be it the trim, paneling, or built-in cabinetry, black woodwork might be just the way to introduce a little moodiness into your home. Some examples:
• 1 Shelves and paneling in a woodsy room, via ABC Dragoo
• 2 Black-painted built-in shelves via Modern Roost.
• 3 Traditional Home (?) via Is There Any Paper around Here?
• 4 Black-painted window trim via Bkk Home
• 5 Bold black trim against creamy white walls, by ColorTheory

Black woodwork really adds a lot of drama to a space.

Amazing how many folks are squeamish about painting their walls black...
...I wonder how many of them have black pieces in their wardrobe that they wear frequently?

LOVE it, especially #2! Nicely dramatic without having crazy eye searing colors!

These are so elegant! I've been thinking about not black, but a dark grey for my walls. After this post, I've been thinking maybe I'll paint the woodwork instead. It needs repainting more than the walls do, anyway.
About the sofa: it reminds me of sofas from Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams (www.mgandbw.com) and Jayson Home and Garden. But I don't see anything just like it.

It's striking but requires continuous dusting.

Love it. I've been considering painting just the interior (sash part?) of my windows a deep blue/black. Everything else is white.
And love the photos. I am ready to move in to any of those spaces. Especially #1.

Gorgeous- and I like it even better with a black stain instead of paint. Wood grain looks fantastic shimmering in shades of charcoal in black.

QUESTION:
The first pic was in Domino--the house was featured, and I LOVED the entire place.
Does anyone remember the name of the owner, or how I could find the rest of the pics? (Don't think they were ever on the Domino site).
