The pictures of the newly renovated Franz Kafka Society Center in Prague left us swooning for a built-in bookshelf budget of our own. Designed by architects Steven Holl and Marcela Steinbachová, the library space is completely defined by bookshelves — including shelves that rotate 360 degrees, offering access to even more bookshelves...

Does anyone know a good carpenter around New York City that can build shelves like these (not the swiveling ones and all that jazz... don't have THAT many books).

ian b, in ny you should check out set-design shops at some of the smaller, off-broadway theatres and see if there's a starving artist who could do this for you!
