Cold Storage by Nora Maynard

12-4-cold-storage.jpgNora Maynard is an excellent writer who writes for The Kitchen, so we were very pleased to discover this past week that she has also written a great little story about storage. Right up our alley. It's called Cold Storage and we'll tease you with these lines:

But there was a problem. There was still a bunch of stuff left in storage that had to be disposed of. We'd discovered that some of the things we'd done without for five years we actually preferred to do without. But rent for the unit—$134.60—was due Tuesday unless we emptied it and left it broom-clean. I worked from home. My hours were flexible. I'd take care of things....

That was excellent. One day I'll clean out my storage unit, right now I'm basically paying to not have to think about it.
