Color Inspiration from White House

As we close this month's theme of Room for Color, here is one more design that accentuates color by keeping things mostly white. When there is color in this home, it's the exception and it really stands out...

We love the soft effect and mix of blues and yellows spotted around the house. Also, books lend a great deal of color to this particular home. See the rest of the White House in the Saucy Dwellings group on Live Journal.

Nice rooms. The plants/flowers add a nice jolt of color, as well.

If you go to the linked site, the first room has an amazing large-scale painting (?) of a Delft tile on the wall. Very lovely.

This is so beautiful. A white floor is what really separates an intentionally white space from landlord-blah white walls.

Didn't even notice the white floor until Lisa (Montreal) pointed it out. I'm a proponent of white decor with pops of color. It'd be interesting to see what the effect would be if the books were rearranged by color.
