Pipes are good. And that little statue on the shelf? Also good.

I really like the concept. I wish I had some when I built a canopy bed out of pipe. That said, I'd probably stick with regular pipe fittings if at all possible, saving the kee klamp version for those kinds of fittings I can't find at the hardware store. Their more expensive than regular fittings. I really like them, though.

Seems that these could be useful for creating portable stretched-fabric partitions within a loft or studio apartment...

...or possibly some tension-mounted swing-arm drapery hardware?

@bepsf -- YES. I use all-caps to convey enthusiasm.

My grandmother had a ramp installed over part of the staircase leading up to her house when when she was in a wheelchair. The handrails were built out of this. Even in that context they looked kinda cool to me... but in an industrial loft on a floating staircase or something, it would be totally pretty.

In that pic above, the center shelf looks like it's buckling form the weight of the books. It's making me nervous.

I'm sorry, but I think this looks awful. The scale of the shelves is all wrong for the size of the books, or vice versa. It's a jumbled mess. This shelving system may be a good idea, but this is not a very effective way to represent it.
