Floored! Whoa! We were blown away at the new directions AT's favorite carpet tile manufacturer, FLOR, is going in their newest catalog. In addition to new colors and patterns, they've introduced a wonderfully-thick looking shag, a hopscotch game and a series of laser-cut intricate-edged tiles perfect for a modern interpretation of a tree skirt. Pictured above is the new Souk Chic area rug in grey. More pics of new products after the jump...

I LOVE the hopskotch. It is perfect in a long hallway in a house with a sense of humor. :-)

I can't praise my FLOR bedroom carpet enough (brown Modern Mix)! SO fun to put together, easy to clean, and much softer than I expected. I love just looking at my room now and smiling at it!

Current FLOR Owners:

I ordered & received some samples from FLOR, as I am considering it for both a bedroom & Family Room. Maybe it is just the samples they sent, but they are sort of shredd-y on the edges. Are the edges of your tiles very finished-looking? Are they durable, or do I need to worry about fraying edges in my very high-traffic family room?

i'm so glad they're selling the hopskotch! i thought i was going to have to DIY my own.

robyn - i've had my flor carpet tiles for 3 years now, and no problems. they're in my home office though, which probably doesn't get as much traffic as your family room.

I almost purchased Flor until I received the samples (which took forEVER to receive) and they seemed very thin. Do they provide much cushioning at all?

I think it's definitely worth getting a couple of batches of samples (I got three) before you decide, because there are huge differences between the tiles. Many of the "soft" loops just seemed scratchy, and some of the "plush" ones just seemed thin. However, once I felt the Modern Mix ones, I knew that was the one for me, and it feels awesome under my feet. (and I noticed the frayed edges on the samples too - there were a few stray fibers on the lful-size tiles when I opened the boxes, but no problems once installed)
