Inspiration: Tekannelamper Lamps

Norwegian Salvation Army chain Fretex teamed up with design firm Ralston & Bau to create a series of repurposed lamps at their Redesign Summer Camp. The pieces, called Tekannelamper, are made of vintage teapots and glass from lighting fixtures. The purpose of the project is to eventually produce a line of Fretex goods.

 
 

These lamps are simple to make, inexpensive, and charming. The contrast of the intricate old glass pieces with their bold sculptural bases feels very modern. I may have to try my own...

Wow, I wish this had been entered in the Design Showcase! I don't love every single lamp, but they're really inventive and fun.
