Kohler Striped Tub

12-18-stripe-tub.jpg

We liked this picture so much, we had to share it with you. It's a limited-edition cast iron tub from Kohler Germany. Beautifully updated with modern colored stripes, the cast iron tub satisfies our love of things old and our love of things fresh and modern...

Though we don't have a claw-foot tub, we are inspired to paint one! (Though we can't read German, we're sure it is pricey!) Via: Trendir.

I'm now having bathtub lust (to go along with the wallpaper lust I'm having after seeing the Cavern wallpaper on Ohdeedo).

For that kind of stripe, it really does need to be a brand new tub, so the stripes can be pristine, seriously, or the surface has to be perfect, and the paint has to be really, really serious paint, because you do NOT want to imitate this and end up with shabby-(not-very)-chic.

Yeah, I wonder if you could bring a brand new tub to an auto paint place for something like this.

When I was a kid in San Francisco, just about every hippie Victorian house had a painted claw-foot bathtub like this one. The photo just needs a few pot plants by the window, and it's a time warp.

I'm not so fond of the stripes, but do covet that widow and view. Sigh.
