apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Modern Loft Restoration in Florence

florence.jpg

Here's a look if you love white. Part of what we love about this apartment is the contrast of the light gray molding around the windows with the stark white walls. The result is airy and clean without being too sterile. (Although, it doesn't hurt to have exposed beams, a beautiful floor, and skylights!) In the bedroom, we love the map as headboard and the army blanket pillows on the bed.

The furniture isn't our favorite. It just seems a little large and square. (What do you think?) That said, we absolutely love that bath. At Remodelista, they found objects to approximate the look of the bath, so that you can have the look of an industrial chic bath without actually being in Florence.

The space itself is beautiful - and I love the deep window recesses, the vintage map above the bed and the pillows made from Swiss Army blankets in the bedroom - and that great SMEG Refrigerator!

I absolutely adore the bedroom, and I really don't mind the furniture, I think the space can carry it off.

Wow and it looks like all the walls are plaster and not drywall. Inspiration for my soon to DIY attic.

Beautiful, I am always so impressed when a space can be virtually colorless and still look designed.

How would you describe that map? I'd love to find a similar style with the scroll feature for my home. Any idea on where I should look aside from Ebay?

Thank you AT!

Uggg.. Florence is NOT this sterile. It's much richer, layered, and more textured. And while sometimes you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the old town, this isn't the way to do it.

Quiet chic. White works here because it is subdued. Thanks

I would kill for those windows and beamed ceilings. The rest is okay.
