When we think about escapes, we think of Olle. Olle Lundberg, the remarkable architect, salvage junkie and erstwhile Ikea designer, not only lives on a ferry boat in San Francisco harbor, he has a cabin up north (Cazadero, Calif.) that we'd die for. Below are more pics of the woody, simple, airy and largely reused environment he's created for relaxing when not working with head cases like Larry Ellison...

The pool at the cabin looks like it's as deep as the pool at the ferry house!
Love the fenced/trellised garden.

Both the cabin and the boat have been featured on HGTV shows.

Very cool. Love the pool, but would worry about possibly falling! Don't let drunk people swim in that people, or they might try to go out the wrong way.

I remember seeing this and his tug boat in Elle Decor or one of those mags a year or so ago. It took my breath away then - it still takes my breath away.
And Olle ain't bad to look at as well...

Beautiful space... but the quilt with stars has to go!

I find it funny that when the vibe is rustic, the envy factor is waaaaaaaay lower than if this amount of money (I'm guessing considerable) had been sunk into a slick city space.
