apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Peckham House

An exercise in sustainability and compact living, the Peckham House was recently featured on UK television series Grand Designs.

The house was constructed in London on a tight budget. The site was an "unuseable" brownfield before the project was completed. The design is full of great space-saving ideas, like a spa tub located under a sliding bed and a sink basin in a drawer that slides out of the way when not in use.

Check it all out at the Peckham House website. (Thanks for the tip, Rich!)

I saw the grand designs program of the build. Stunning place, made by a clever hands on engineer. Without that glass sliding roof the whole thing wouldn't have worked. Need to figure out how to get one in an nyc apartment now...
