A few weeks ago I wrote a little something called Purple Things That I Don't Hate, challenging myself to find purple decor items that I actually liked. It turns out that many of you have an aversion to purple, so in the interest of our personal growth, I've decided this time to gather a collection of rooms that are admirable in spite of their coloring.

You may like many of the rooms in the Purple slide show on BHG too:

Another long time favorite is this pairing of chartreuse and lavender. Long before that apple green made it's debut here on AT (and the mirrored items), they were featured in Simply Perfect Color Schemes:

That room was on the cover on BHG's Simply Perfect Color Schemes in 2002. I know, I have that issue right here in my lap!

Some of those are pink. Are you the same colorblind blogger that posted about kelly green with less than half of the pictures featuring kelly green?

I love this purple for a bedroom:

Maybe try calibrating your monitor, kevoncubine? Because all of them look purple to me. It's a range, certainly, from lavender, an admittedly pink-hued kind of purple -- to royal purple, up to a burgundy purple, which may be red-tinted but it could still be considered purple, inasmuch as it's a blue-shaded red.
Purple, like peach, is just a hard color to photograph, and it doesn't help that our individual monitors may also be at a setting that further whacks the color. Can't speak for any post on kelly green, but this particular post doesn't look like it deserves such a complaint.

I am in love with the desk in the second room! I wish I knew where I could get it!

None of the rooms look pink to me, although I can see how the third one could be misconstrued as pink--it's a very pale magenta-ish purple.

The last pic is the color of my home office...but I do so love aubergine w/green...kind of like a DSW bag, I guess.

love the chairs, where did you get them I have the table and I am looking for chairs.

The fourth one definitely looks pink to me. The pillows are purple, but the walls, table, and rug are pink. My monitor is calibrated because I print graphics using pantone colors.

really kodak?....to me the walls are more magenta and the table and rug are more in the coral/orange/red family than pink...besides i don't think it matters what u want to call these colors...they are very appealing and eventhough i am not brave enough to use so much color i can appreciate how others might enjoy them.

I love that first room, with the black and white tablecloth.

Oh, good, let's argue about whether something's purple or not! If it didn't look purple to/on the screen of the perp of this item, he wouldn't have included it, would he. Good grief.

I love all the rooms. I love the range of purple shown--it's like a purple for everybody! I'm definitely a person who loves purple, tho, anyway. There's such a variety of rooms here. I'm wondering what the purple rooms you hate would look like ;) xo

This post has changed my mind about purple rooms. Indeed, a purple room can work. Thank you :)

Some of these are more pink than purple and others are very much on the border.

i can appreciate these, but I think the only colors I could live with would be #6 and #8! I prefer purple on clothes, and lavender nowhere.

There's the exact same painting on the wall in pictures 8 and 12... but they don't come from the same source.

I have a purple wall in my bedroom. It is a deep dusty aubergine hue, but still purple. I love the richness of it.
I still cannot get on board with lavender though. It always seems overly feminine to me.

Beautiful. I didn't know wall color could be as vibrant as in #7. It's so yummy.

I never liked purple growing up (I didn't "get it" either), but all my best friends' favorite colors were purple. Now, I love it. I have a purple purse, purple clothes, planning on an eggplant wall, and even purple streaks in my hair. Reformed purple lover!

7 is my fav. Does anyone know what the color is?

i don't know what you people are talking about. i'm mad for purple right now. #8 is the best example of purple done right.

Purple Craze is over me right now! Love it, everything: purple, magenta, aubergine, plum... It has to be rather dark though and preferably in details. I'm preparing a storyboard with purple for my bedroom at the moment. Can't wait to do it!
