Leave it to those darned Dutch to find a way to build a Spacebox to paradise. De Vijf Architects have created these stackable, lightweight studios that come complete with kitchens and bathrooms.
The large front window assures you wont get too claustrophobic and the interior design possibilities look endless. At around 200 square feet, these high-grade composite units are easily assembled and dis-assembled, so you can take your home with you and stack it somewhere else. Now if we could just find a way to get the city to let us stack these by the beach! AH

What a great idea! We need these small spaces. Are they energy efficient?
At first glance, I thought "amazing idea."
Upon deeper consideration, I thought, "like a big, stackable zoo."
I think I'd go insane in one of these. I don't know why.
Hm... no idea from pictures what kind of material sense, if it breathes - do cross-ventilation windows open, are there vents etc.. or is it just another photogenic plastic-variant; what kind of structural insulation for the really hot, cold, rainy, windy, snowy weather? Most importantly, what kind of serious sound insulation from your neighbors - the thing that sets apart the cheap boxes from the real contenders. And finally it does make one wonder why the simple grid stacking plan in this day of computer-generated permutations that allows for more variety in interlocking modules.... Not a giant step really.
