Craftzine clued us onto the Photographic Dictionary, which is a fantastic source of inspiration. The image above (by Trevor Tirano) is for the definition of yellow. The Photographic Dictionary isn't complete, and some letters have more entries than others, but it's a fresh way to think about words and images
I created a book like this for my fiancee a few years ago, using photos of us, our house, and our dog. Using http://www.mypublisher.com/ and iPhotos I just dragged and dropped the whole thing really easily, and then defined words like "love", "peace", "joy", "content", "home"...
Needless to say she cried when she opened it and I got MAJOR points... :)
