The "Little Hill" still bears fruit. Thomas Jefferson passed away in 1826, but the gardens he planned and planted (with a little help from his slaves), still are going strong 200 years later. Anne Raver's "Thomas Jefferson Weeded Here" in today's Times interviews the director of Monticello's gardens which were innovative in his time and offer some simple lessons to mimic in ours. MGR
