After a few weeks of cool purples and blues from the House Beautiful archives, it felt right to switch the spectrum and look at warm colors. Here are some examples of adding color warmth with paint and accessories in yellows, browns and pinks.
After a few weeks of cool purples and blues from the House Beautiful archives, it felt right to switch the spectrum and look at warm colors. Here are some examples of adding color warmth with paint and accessories in yellows, browns and pinks.
• 1 Designer Ned Marshall used Mango- colored walls to add warmth and coziness to his grand New Orleans apartment.
• 2 Designer Amanda Nisbet's own Manhattan living room with warm pinks, reds and yellows.
• 3 Kathryn Ireland's California home combines warm wood floors and red, pink, orange and yellow textiles in the grand living room.
• 4 A San Francisco home by designer Stephen Shubel uses a peony-like pink in the daughter's bedroom — Benjamin Moore's Tickled Pink— and combines with warm-colored textiles and bedding.
• 5 Patrick Wade and Dave DeMattei 's San Francisco home has a warm base of browns that is even warmer with the addition of yellow, gold and red accessories.

Funny I was thinking about changing out my accents to pinks, peach colors and this pink room is what I had in mind except I would leave my walls the same as they are.
The first picture has great symmetry, minus the big plant on the coffee table.

A refreshing antidote to the all-white interiors we've been seeing lately... the mango looks especially delicious.

I love the mango color on the walls !!! I am also partial to the brown !!! I wanted to do a milk chocolate or even darker brown on my walls with the ceiling bright white and the molding and trim a nice bright white to contrast, but after testing the color, the room was a bit dark, so I went with the more mango color !!!

For the first time ever I've been hesitatant about choosing a color that would peacefully cohabit in my living room with twin brown nubby textured sofas - the mango colored walls are perfect! It looks wonderful with all that beautiful white trim and I love the way the room seems to glow. It probably looks especially warm and inviting in the evenings too. I'm heading off to Lowes to look for mango colored paint.
