Introducing our first January Jumpstart Judge from the former state of Blueprint, Editor in Chief, Sarah Humphreys. She'll be helping to award our six Ebay prizes to the deserving DIY-ers who braved the possible perils of home projects with us this month on AT. Click below for her DIY secret resource and biggest inspiration...

My Secret Resource:

The antiques stores on Water Street in Warren, RI

Biggest DIY Inspiration:

Painted Andirons: This project barely takes an hour, much less a weekend, but it’s a great way to add a quick visual punch to your space—and inspire you to tackle more ambitious projects next. All the credit here goes to Rebecca Robertson, a former Blueprint home editor and a fellow judge in this contest. With a quick swipe of Benjamin Moore “Surf Blue” (#2056-30), she transformed soot-black, purely utilitarian objects into whimsical turquoise objets.

It made such an impact in my 300-square foot apartment. (Important note: Painted andirons are only safe in a nonworking fireplace!)

Hhhhh we all love Sarah's apartment. The feature they did on her apartment remodel was what got me into this magazine. I miss you, Blueprint. *weeps quietly*

You know, for a second there I read that as "Smurf blue."

Tiamat_the_Red -- It could very well be called Smurf Blue! But I love that color, especially contrased with the black & white of the fireplace. What a nice, easy way to add a punch of color (and super easy to change out if you want to!).

The one with Sarah's apartment was my favorite Blueprint, too! The article totally convinced me to downsize from an almost 1000 SF place to one that's under 400 SF. I LOVE my small space and I don't think I would have even even thought it was possible, if it were not for Blueprint and Apartment Therapy.

Wait a minute! What! No more Blueprint?! The website doesn't indicate that and this is the first I heard of it. Does anyone know why?

I received a notice that I would get another MSL magazine until my subscription expires. At least it wasn't the Bridal magazine
