My Secret Resource:

- truck-furniture.co.jp - Amazing Japanese furniture website

Biggest DIY Inspiration:

If you have unsightly tiles in your fireplace try inserting cut sheets of handmade dark gray paper. Leave the edges a bit rough and let the seams overlap about an inch. It fools everyone for a slate tiled fireplace. This
is assuming that the paper is far out of flames way of course. My fireplace does not work anymore.

Measure the spaces you want to cover and cut 4-5 pieces of varying lengths (this makes it look more authentic). Then insert the pieces one by one and trim as you go along. I attached mine with little dabs of rubber cement which can be easily removed when I move out.

I'd love to know where to get the decorative grate that covers the non-working fireplace. I like the one pictured.
