The House Beautiful archives are rich with color inspiration — this week, we've narrowed our focus and pulled a collection of blue kitchens. From very vibrant turquoise to relaxing ocean-inspired hues, each one above is from a slide show linked below the jump.
• 1 This vibrant turquoise kitchen is in a Manhattan apartment designed by William Diamond and Anthony Baratta.
• 2 Turquoise glazed cabinetry in this Montecito, California kitchen by designer Christina Rottman.
• 3 Blue glass tiles by Erin Adams through Ann Sacks enliven this Nantucket beach house by designer Frank Roop.
• 4 Dusty blue cabinets on a large kitchen island in a Southhampton beachhouse by Marshall Watson.
• 5 This cheery kitchen uses Benjamin Moore Woodlawn Blue (HC-147).

The first kitchen is stunning; that island looks like it's made of water. Which, I guess, is the effect the designer was going for. :)

While the floor pattern isn't particularly appealing, the first kitchen is captivating. The polished nickel trim and hardware combined with the reflective turquoise on the island is beyond beautiful.

while lighter blue looks great in photospreads, we had our bathroom painted blue during a remodel a few years ago and I'll already pretty sick of it. I think it's tough to live with.

The first, while innovative and definitely interesting, would be a bit much for me. I do, though, LOVE the third photo. Those glass tiles are just . . . scrumptious!

The first kitchen it GoRgEoUs! I just painted an accent wall in my kitchen that color!

Not normally a fan of blue in large doses, but it looks lovely in these kitchens. I particularly love the eggshell blue in the 5th picture. It's easy on the senses and soothing while still energizing.

I love these. The first one is phenomenal. Agree about the floor, though. But the cabinets, the ceiling, the lights, the counter--perfection.

Minus the floor, that first one is my DREAM kitchen. If it were up to me my entire house would be blue!
Well...it is up to me but I realize a house entirely in one color is a bit nauseating.

First kitchen has a lot of elements I like (especially the ceiling and beautiful lamps) but it's a bit too much in the same room, as well as a bit disjointed feeling.

not for me, thanks.

They're all pretty fabulous. There's something unexpected and perfect about #3 that grabs me. #1, though, is the wonerfully irreverent. Nice post!
