This townhouse on Garfield Place in Brooklyn has a beautiful mix of old detail and contemporary simplicity. These virtues really become evident in the home's kitchen and bath. Both spaces are framed with gorgeous old millwork archways but contain pared-down fixtures, cabinetry, and finishes...
There are so many things we love about these two spaces it's hard to know where to start: Both the kitchen and bath retain the old house's worn wood floors, which adds a warm feeling to the spaces. The subdued black finishes are beautiful on the kitchen cabinets, bathtub, and archway into the bathroom. The bathroom walls have this natural mottled finish that's just gorgeous.
And the exposure of things like the kitchen hood exhaust and the bathtub plumbing just add another layer to the home's endearing rough-around-the-edges quality. To see the complete townhouse, visit the designers' website, Levenson McDavid Architects.
I don't think I'd like working in that kitchen but I adore that bathroom. A year or so ago, I found photos of an interior that is what I would go for if I had unlimited funds and that bathroom fits right in with it. I love the textured look to the walls and the spare fixtures. It feels so serene.

Gorgeous. I envy their taste and style. Well done - refined, inviting, classic, modern, timeliness, and warm.

Ah, my beloved bathroom inspiration photo- I've been lusting after this one FOREVER.
I love all of the brassy gold- it is plumbing transformed into jewelry. They didn't miss a single detail. Brilliant!

Love the conservatory off the kitchen. The sink is gorgeous; however, it would be really difficult to find a more awkward position for it.
