What an ingenious way to get the most out of the corner base cabinet in your kitchen (not that our kitchen is even large enough to have a corner!). Valcucine, an Italian kitchen manufacturer, has this rounded corner cabinet. It's pretty much an extruded lazy susan, taking the round shape all the way up to the butcher block countertop...

I like the other Valcucine corner unit better -- when closed, it looks like a normal 90-degree corner in the cabinetry, but when you pull it out, the interior shelving unit pulls out. The mechanism is designed in such a fashion that you can really access and use all the space, even the furthest darkest reaches of the corner, with ease. (Hard to describe, but amazing to see in action).

not to burst your bubble, but my grandma's old house had this. it's in lots of old houses. it's a good idea, but i found it annoying. if there was too much weight, it would jam up.

I agree (not to burst your bubble), it's not ingenious--at all. I have it in my house, and it's actually awful, because the items always fall behind and jam up the rotating shelves.

although, if there were a door on the side that you could access it from to unjam things, it would work really well.

I have a corner/lazy susan in my kitchen...and I hate it! It's annoying to use and it feels like a ton of wasted space.

My mom has one of these in her kitchen at home and she liked it so much she put TWO in the kitchen at her shore house. If I had one, it would probably jam up - but my mom is so organized, hers always turns flawlessly and every spice, coffee can and box of birthday candles is arranged alphabetically. Totally anal, but I've never not been able to find something in there.

They look good but they are pretty much useless as you cannot store that much compared to the space they take up.
