These are all from expensive, custom designed homes — but we love some of the details, like the multi-colored sliding translucent cabinet doors in picture #2 and the pop of color in picture #5. Both of these ideas cold easily be translated to a smaller scale and on a smaller budget. What do you like about these kitchens?

I love the door in the first one, but it's an odd choice to put the open (or glass doored?) storage unit next to it. Sticks out like a sore thumb in that very white kitchen.
I think my favorite is #3. It looks comfortable, and well-designed for daily use. But I like the light over the table in #4, and the blue cabinets in #6. The #5 kitchen is impressive, but looks too much like a trophy room that wouldn't get much use.

... and is that really double faucets over the side-by-side sinks in #5?

I love #5! Granted, in the photo it looks a little sterile, but filled with people and food, it would be amazing. It looks like a chef's dream to cook in (at least, THIS chef!).

Emily, I think it bothers me because it looks so much like kitchens I've seen in designer showcase homes, which are owned by people who do not cook. But yes, it is designed well for someone who really does entertain at home. Caterers would love it.
The reason I like three? It's designed for the way I live.

I like 4 - the lighting over the kitchen table is gorgeous; the kitchen is not obscenely large - but the windows and glass doors make it feel open; and i like having a table right there. My only complaint would be the coloring of the floor.

mmm. Number 5. And can I get those clear bar stools in aquamarine please?

The first kitchen would be great if you really wanted the whisk the HELL out of something.

LOL, Blandwagon! I totally missed that huge whisk. But we have a giant fork in our home, so I can't criticize! =)
