Fisk and Fern is an Etsy shop that sells lots of screen- and block-printed objects, but their flour sack tea towels caught our eye. Choose from a weaving abstract pattern, cheery banana print, and rows of hearts.
Each 29 x 30 towel is $12. Contact Fisk and Fern and they may even create for you a custom design or color scheme to match your home.
when i first laid eyes on these i thought, 'mmm.. cute but a little roughly-executed'. but then it dawned on me that of course it's 'rough', it was done pretty much by hand by folks who are just trying to get by and pay the bills. they don't have the luxury of having expensive equipment, supplies, and staff to make mainstream items and sell them to chains like Pottery Barn or Kmart. nor would they want to. these tea towels are true art. and a delight. thanks for posting them and promoting etsy artists! i'd love to get some of my own stuff on there.

The purple/blue "peacock"-like teatowel by F&F is my favorite teatowel I have in my kitchen. While I have an assortment of other fine, professionally-made towels, the flour sack is especially absorbent, soft, and a great size, on top of their fantastically funky and colorful designs. Highly recommended!

love 'em, but i feel like, instead of shelling out 12 bucks, i could make my own. the paints they use are on display on their flickr site.
