Good Things. We recieved this tip last night and liked it. You can place votive candles in apples and then float them in water. Interesting, no?
Despite that fact that this seems like a country house idea, we think simple, natural ideas like this are great surprises in the city. We would try different kinds and different sizes of apples and float them in different places: bowls, bathtubs, sinks, plates... just experiment. It's the light that will warm and the novelty that will make people smile. More on this from Martha herself. (Thanks, Hulda!) MGR

So nice! I thought I Was going to make the tangerine/olive oil candles you suggested, but I think these are even better for Thanksgiving.
I hope you do some Christmas stuff like this as well! I got my idea for my Christmas party centerpieces from Martha.
Re-- Floating Apple Candles
Dear God, just don't "bob" for them.
Singes the old goatee RIGHT off.
This gives me a collegeiate apple-bong feeling. Now THERE's a crafts project that Martha never thought to feature.
When I was in college, we couldn't afford such luxuries as apples for bongs. We had to make do with empty toilet paper rolls and aluminum foil. But I digress...
