The results are amazing - at least in their photographs - as the interplay between light and dark is remarkable and the dramatic effect unique. Prices run between $95 and $185, which isn't bad. Contact: info@automatadesign.com(Thanks, Jennifer!) MGR

Can't get to the site because our company disables flash but I like the look of the first light. Reminds me very much of a similar one I got from the Conran store (after trying to import it from the UK after seeing it in the UK first)

I am pretty handy and can follow instructions well but mine took 3 hours to assemble! Well worth it in the end though.
If the Automata lights are anything like Norm 69 I would caution that the OOB experience is a little disappointing. Not due to the flat packed nature per se but because up close the plastic looks cheap and the 3D structure does not look substantial. However, once you hang the light it really looks great and like a solid piece. The above mentioned interplay between light and dark is readily apparent in Norm 69 also.
Sorry link did not work - I could've sworn I tested it - instead simply type norm 69 into the search box that is displayed in that link.
I live in Adelaide and I frequently see Paul's lights hanging about in local clubs and stores.
I can confirm that the results are amazing when they're not being photographed too.
I don't have any pendant light fittings in my current house so I'm still able to take the time to decide between the novalite and the geigerlite (I'll be saving the star shaped lights for when I have kids and need to decorate their rooms).
It's good to see Australian based designers featured!
