The lamp comes in various woods, but is most popular in Claro walnut (below) with a hand rubbed oil finish and polished nickel hardware. Looking for the something a bit more affordable?

Jonathan Adler recently added the similar Ventana Lamp to his collection for a fraction of the price. Design war? Not at all. We've heard that the design is an old American design and that Jonathan personally called Tyler to apologize for any confusion, but that his was intended to be quite different. All we can say is that great minds think alike.

I have the JA version and LOVE it. Thankfully, it draws attention away from the big TV in the living room.
I Love that lamp. Do you roughtly know how much this lamp would cost?
The lamp is terrific, but what about the chest? That chest is a knockout! And ya gotta love those lemons, too.
Yes... WHERE did that great chest of drawers (is that what it is???) come from??? Love it!
EVERYTHING at BDDW is ridiculously GORGEOUS and pricey!
absolutely covetous ... go into the soho shop and get your drool on!
I want so many things in that picture, and have the perfect spaces for them...the lamp (living room)...the Harroll rug(dining room)...the Captain's mirror (front entrance)...not to mention the plastered brick wall, which I think would be the ideal treatment for our hideous brick floor-to-ceiling fireplace (the back makes up the front entrance). LOVE just about everything from BDDW!
Hmmm. Love the shape and proportions of the shade, but the base is too much like those three-legged particle board tables for me, and made with broomsticks no less.
Maybe I just need to see it in person.
And, as for "great minds think alike"... maybe great minds raid the same design archives...
love this lamp, as well as many other pieces from bddw. in fact whenever i visit their gallery i want to move in it's a great space.
Can someone list the prices for these pieces. They are amazing.
I like the lemons.
From the link provided above....
ventana floor lamp
$350.00
I toss my hat in with Patrick (the other one). Why do I want a bowl on my floor lamp? Dust samples? Somehow this design strikes me as trying a little too hard. (Trying for what, I'm not sure.)
That lamp is awesome.
Agreed! I love the lamp. I just finished a casual living room using this timeless fixture. Quick ship is getting to be so important, too. It's hard ask clients to wait 12 weeks for things when everything else in the world is moving so quickly. So, great piece all around.
spotted today at west eml -- their remarkable similar tripod lamp (in metal)

The lamp is fine, but it is standing in front of an amazing chest that seems to have been forgotten. What is the chest!
I like the lamp, but would prefer that it not have the bowl-shaped part where the legs join.....I also like the rug in the second picture.....
I saw an intriguing photo (on flickr) of lemons filling a wooden bed frame (from last year's ICFF). Any connection? The lamp and chest look like they could have been from the same exhibit only not in view in the photo.
my husband and I bought the lamp and a BDDW captain's mirror on a trip to nyc a few years ago. we lugged them on the subway to our hotel and carted them home 9 hours in our car.
The lamp is the most beautiful lamp i have ever seen - doesn't even compare to JA lamp. In person the bowl is beautiful - you want to run your hands along it - and it has gorgeous delicate wooden pulls. It is truly a pleasure to look at and use. you are paying for the quality and detailing.
We scrimped and saved to buy it and i will never regret the money that is costs - it's an heirloom.
m
the chest is also BDDW.
