A perfect table lamp. Designed in 1930 by Brit Robert Dudley Best, who carried the Bauhaus flame to England, the Bestlite had a great career until it fell out of the spotlight. It has been resurrected by the Danish, who treasure this sort of design and is now back in full production and available in the USA.

hey, maxwell, what great taste our team has!

At $500 a lamp, they are just too expensive.
Ooo, I really love this lamp! I really like that soft yellow color.
Don't fret, darlings: click my name to see one selling on eBay for $99!
Leslie,
You totally scooped me. I had run across this again at ICFF and was dying to post it. I swear I didn't see your post.
I have to add that I DID blog this last year...

;-)
Leslie is right. It is expensive. With that $500, I can buy my 7 yr old son with a lot school books. I found this site called uniserf.com. It has some good designed lamps with a fraction of the cost.

This "Bestlite" is a licenced design. The rights to manufacture it changes hands as fast as a 13 year old girl changes outfits.
The latest manufacturer will give it up, like all the others, when they see the sales slump (it's not a great lamp) and it will go back into "design limbo" for another few years.
You got to be kidding. Bestlite is one of the most successful lighting brands in Scandinavia now, and has been for a long time.
