DIY Lighting Inspiration from Studio Mesila

Studio Mesila is a Tel-Aviv based design collective that specializes in sustainable design and creative reuse of materials. Their lamps use buttons, ribbons, leather, woodscrap and clothespins to dramatic effect and great DIY inspiration.

The clothespin chandelier is our favorite, but we're also fond of the buttons — which is your favorite?

The button covered lampshade is pretty but a bit too crafty-chic for my rooms, which is a shame because I have tins full of them! I really like the clothespin light and the veneer strip orb, which would also be pretty simple to DIY. Anyone know any sources for veneer scraps?

i love the button design lampshades...would look great in a kid's room or craft room ( if you're lucky enought to have one).

I really love the white button lampshade. It could work in all kinds of rooms... from a distance, it just looks sparkly, and up close you see the buttons.

And I may steal the clothespins idea!
