Document Light by Gaby Crohn

The Document Light by Gaby Crohn combines the functions of a table or desk lamp with that of a bulletin board. Shadeless, the lamp's design has metal rings that are designed to hold ephemera and utilize documents, receipts, memos and other paper files as a makeshift, customizable shade.

I always have some cool postcards or nifty papers that I save for something creative (which I hardly ever get around to) — this design would be a great way to showcase some of my favorite ephemera on a daily basis.

Would you use a Document Light?

Sorry, but this just doesn't appeal to me--it looks very cluttered.

Unattractive at best, and a potential fire hazard, I would think.

I had to check the date...this seems like it should have been an April first post!

No, this looks really messy and bad. It would really distract me to look at my lamp and see all these junky papers all over it. What's wrong with a small cork board for this sort of thing?

I can see how it would be attractive with the right sorts of papers on it, and how it could be very functional. I do wonder about fire safety though. Are the rings positioned far enough away to be okay? Or does it take a newer-style bulb that doesn't get hot?

Too busy. Can't afford the distraction of something stuck to my desk lamp.

It does look busy - but I'd kick a kick out of it in our den/home office.
