Expansion XL by blankblank

The Expansion XL lighting fixture is a piece of art as much as anything. When the light is turned on, it reminds us of those canvas armatures by artist Lee Bontecou...

When turned off, the Expansion XL, designed by Rob Zinn of blankblank, becomes a soft, pastel-colored topography. The light can be made custom in sizes up to 52" in diameter, so this could really take over a room.

But for something of this scale that's a light and a piece of art, it'll cost you: about $2500.

This reminds me more of the Looney Tunes opening. Maybe if my decor had more Bugs Bunny stuffed animals laying around...
