Fontana Arte's She Shelf and Lamp

0729_she.jpg

A little bedside table with an integrated reading lamp - now that sounds nice. The She shelf, by Fontana Arte, is exactly this: a wall-mounted shelf and lamp all in one...

Fontana Arte's minimalist She design is made of bent metal that comes in either glossy white or glossy black. A fluorescent bulb is tucked up under the top portion of the shelf and the metal in the light's housing is reflective, bouncing light down onto the shelf. Pefect for a tiny space, the shelf comes in two sizes and reduces the clutter of a free-standing lamp.

Cute shelf but I doubt it would cast enough light to read by.

I'm with Giffin -- it seems like it doesn't really reduce the need for a lamp.

um...I see that getting extremely hot...the metal and anything else that bulb is shining down onto.

It's a fluorescent bulb, Enamorada. I really like this. It could go anywhere, not just as a nightstand. It would be nice if you could focus the light on your book while you read in bed instead of straight down to the shelf.

I like it - looks very "boutique hotel" - but I'd think that a gooseneck lamp mounted on the wall would still be necessary for reading in bed.

I agree with the other comments, but think this would be FABULOUS as a landing strip.

It could be used above the head of the bed instead of mounted beside as a nightstand. But aside from hating the term "landing strip".... it also seems suitable for the entry.
