Fontana Table Lamp

4-30-font1.jpg

What is remarkable about this lamp, is that it's almost entirely made of glass. And it has bulbs inside and outside of its base. Designed by Max Ingrand in 1954, we recently purchased two of these Fontana Lamps (Fontana Arte) for a client and couldn't be happier. If you are looking for the high contrast of white on black and beautiful ambient light, these things are perfect...

The Fontana comes in three sizes, has a metal frame that works off the white, satined, hand blown glass. It has two or three switch control allowing light to be adjusted in numerous combinations including an uplight, central light or lower soft light.

And if you want an old one, dig around. There's a bunch of vintage pieces out there, though you may find the price is not much lower.

Lamp is nice, but what about the hanging lanterns in the first image? Any information?
