Greenlight Concepts Recycled Traffic Lights

11.13.greenlight_concepts.jpg

Right off the street. Greenlight Concepts uses the glass lenses from discarded traffic lights to make home lighting fixtures...

We like the pendant, in the amber "yellow light" glass shown above. Where Greenlight has really succeeded: you look at their fixtures and first think "nice design". Then you look closer and see that they're made of recycled parts. Prices range from $120 to $275.

Why aren't these being recycled as...oh I don't know...TRAFFIC LIGHTS? And what happens to the rest of it after they take the colored part out? Seems like more of a gimmick than anything.

I've been in love with those textures since my Mr. Roger's days. Now older and past the "I need to include a traffic light in my new bar," I'm all about that pendant! How chic!
