Greg Yale Associates Illumination: Indoor Lighting Outdoors

Surreal outdoor lighting. These lamps were selected by lighting designer Greg Yale Associates Illumination for a beautiful residential project. The lighting's floor lamp style is more often found indoors.

The use of the lamps outdoors lends a surreal feeling to the landscape, especially with that dramatic blanket of snow covering the ground. The lamp looks a little like Artemide's Melampo, but we don't know of one that can be used outdoors.

You can almost make out the outline of the door to the wardrobe on the other side of the lamppost.

I sure hope it's low voltage. A teenager near here this summer got out of a pool and fiddled with an indoor lamp being used outdoors. Yep, she was fried.

It's lovely, but really, that's a lot of light, which leads to light pollution.
