Holiday Decorating with Vessel's Candela

12-11-vessel1.jpg

Holiday lights. We're big fans of Vessel and their Candela rechargable lights (especially now that the batteries are replaceable). They've been through theTest Lab and now the ever-resourceful Swissmiss links to Free Downloads from Vessel. Add some holiday cheer with an angel, snowman or tree...

Does anyone else share my less-than-warm-and fuzzy feelings about this company? Good looks and good conceptual work aside, I found that the Candela actually doesn't work that well. Two of my four stopped charging after only a few months.

Personally, I won't be purchasing another set just for the pleasure of having to buy even more replacement batteries.

Cute decor post, however.

I completely agree with the previous post by JenDC. While I love their stuff, I purchased a set of four also, and did everything BY the books to make sure they stayed working; and then, about five months later, three would only maintain about five minutes of on time, then died. One worked a few months longer, but it also, later died. I contacted the company, but to no avail (never got a response.) Sadly I'm a total sucker, and while I can't afford another $80. at this moment, I'm tempted to give them another try since you can now replace the batteries. I loved them while they worked.

I had the same problem with my set...I was an early adopter and they have all burnt out...Now I may be interested again since the batteries are replaceable.

ditto all of the other commenters ... but after my original four stopped working, i decided to give it another shot: i picked up a pair of the new/improved design. i've had them for about six months now, and no problems.

I have had the same problem with my original set of candelas...one of the lamps only stays lit for about 10 minutes. :-(

I did do the cutouts last year and it made quite a fun impression around my house. The christmas trees are really cool and came out the best.

I thought I had done something wrong to make my candelas burn out as quickly as they did...though it doesn't necessarily make me feel much better to know that they just suck. Shame on them.

Hi Everyone. This is OXO Good Grips writing. Yes, OXO. Really. You might be happy to know that we recently took over Candela products and have been working on making several improvements including switching to LED lights on all products and developing some additional shapes to add to the collection. We're also making the Guardian light up on both sides and most products will be available at a lower cost to you than before. We are working very had to ensure the charge lasts for at least eight hours and are covering it with a 3-year warranty (one year on the battery, but you'll be able to get any replacement parts you need on www.oxo.com). You'll start seeing OXO Candela products this fall in stores. If anyone has any additional comments to share, please feel free to e-mail us at suggestionbox@oxo.com. We promise, we're listening!
